With a focus on cleaner water for 2008, the
Aveda Institute Columbus
will help improve the water quality in the Olentangy and Scioto River. During the month of April, the Aveda Institute hopes to raise $42,000 in donations to benefit its Earth Month partner, Sierra Club Ohio Chapter. The money raised will support the Sierra Club’s Central Ohio Clean Water Campaign. The Sierra Club’s initiative is working to decrease pollution from sewer overflows and storm water runoff into the local rivers. Pollutants entering the rivers include trash, pesticides, oil and gas products, raw sewage and other hazardous materials. Water pollution threatens public health, wildlife, and recreation for all of Columbus.
